Considering changing mortgage networks? We spoke to our very own Jason Bryant, Head of Growth, about what advisers should really look for when choosing their next network and why the right support can make all the difference when it comes to growing your business.
“Your network should be invested in your growth.”
Q: What would you say to a firm considering changing mortgage networks?
Jason: Take your time and look beyond the headline figures. Choosing a network is a big decision, so it’s important to find one that understands your ambitions and can genuinely support you in achieving them.
At Mortgage Intelligence, we’re an ambitious network, and we want our firms to be ambitious too. That means providing more than just the essentials, we want to help firms identify opportunities, overcome challenges and ultimately grow their businesses.
That support starts with having people who know you and understand your business. When you need guidance, you should be able to pick up the phone and speak to someone who can help.
Q: What about network league tables?
Jason: League tables can be useful, but they only tell you part of the story.
When comparing mortgage networks, I’d encourage firms to look beyond the headline figures and consider what a network actually does to support the businesses within it.
Look at things like firm retention, business growth support and the investment a network makes in its firms.
At Mortgage Intelligence, we’re focused on helping our firms grow, whether that’s through practical guidance, access to expertise and resources, or financial incentives designed to support business development.
For us, it’s about creating a partnership where your success matters to us too.
Q: What should firms look at when comparing networks?
Jason: Look at the whole proposition. Consider the commercial terms, but also ask:
-
Will I receive the support and guidance my business needs?
-
Are there opportunities and incentives to help me grow?
-
Can I speak to people who understand my business?
-
What compliance, marketing and business development support is available?
-
What do existing firms say about their experience?
-
Does the network have a genuine track record of investing in its firms?
The right network should feel like a partner in your growth, not simply a provider of compliance and infrastructure.
At Mortgage Intelligence, we’ve been supporting mortgage and protection advisers for more than 30 years. We’re ambitious about our own future, and we want to help our firms build ambitious, successful businesses too.
If you’re considering switching mortgage networks, our Growth team would be happy to have a confidential conversation about your business, your ambitions and how Mortgage Intelligence could help you achieve them.
